Shopping
The beautiful boutiques, markets and bazaars mean the shopping's superb. Local markets are normally held on a Tuesday or Friday where there's plenty of opportunity to grab a bargain. The best buys include gold and silver jewellery, leather goods, spices, pottery, carpets, lace and traditional Turkish handcrafts. But wherever you're shopping, remember the golden rule: don't hold back when it comes to haggling!
Cuisine
It's well worth sampling 'raki' (a strong aniseed drink served with ice and water), fruit teas, Turkish delight, sweets including 'baklava' and pastries, olives, Turkish kebabs, 'borek' (thin pastry wrapped around savory fillings), cheese, fresh fish and sweet breads. Locally produced 'cam bal' is a tasty pine-scented honey produced from the pine forests in the area that provides a really authentic taste of Dalaman.
Night-life
Dalaman offers a broad selection of clubs and bars for all ages. Entertainment is varied and at its busiest in July and August. Hisaronu and Marmaris are the best bet if you want a lively night out, with bars and nightclubs staying open to the early hours of the morning.
