It may sound odd to build a resort 4 kms from the beach, but the once-sleepy village of Hisaronu is just that, and it works wonderfully. Nestled in the verdant mountains this small resort retains much of its original charm, making it a real favourite with families and couples in search of a relaxed break. Much of the activity here is centred around one main street, where a cluster of shops, bars and restaurants are on hand to keep visitors entertained day or night. Should you wish to venture further afield, the mesmerising lagoon of Olu Deniz is easily reached by Dolmus.
